Happy 2016
January 5th, 2016 | Published in Frontpage
The brand new year begins for Telltales at 7pm on 26 January. That’s when the doors will open at Dolly’s for our first event of 2016.
Grasping the fading remnants of the festive season as it melts into the past, the theme is ‘Gift’.
Don’t just think of presents wrapped in shiny paper. Think of ‘gift’ in various contexts. We’ll hear, perhaps, of special skills and powers; the blessing – or curse – of being gifted; the consequences of having the power to give or of being the recipient of something longed for, unwanted or unexpected.
But, writers, how you use and interpret the theme is up to you; we shall receive all your offerings with the respect and wonder due to the precious gifts they are.
The deadline for submissions is midnight on 17th January. As ever, all types and genres of writing are welcome: we like variety. However, it’s important to remember that it should take no longer than 10 minutes to read any piece, or collection of pieces, of work aloud. For prose this means about 1,600 words. Send us your work by using the form on this website.
Submissions from new writers or writers new to Telltales are particularly welcome, although regular contributors should not turn away; you are all much needed as ingredients in the popular Telltales selection box.
