INSIDE OUT
April 4th, 2018 | Published in Frontpage
Telltales will be reconvening at Dolly’s Wine Bar on Tuesday 22 May at 7.00 pm. The theme is INSIDE OUT. Are you an insider or an outsider? Do you find yourself reflected in the books you read? – or would you like to usher in a new kind of literature? Does the process of writing bring what is on the inside out?
Please get your submissions of poetry, prose, fiction, non-fiction, radio drama, playscripts etc. etc. to us by Sunday 13 May (midnight). As usual, we are hoping to receive some diamonds-in-the-rough. Please respect the word limit for prose of 1,600 words. For poetry, one long poem or up to five short poems is ideal – they don’t all have to be on theme.
Faces of Cornwall
Thank you to all who contributed to this stand-out night at The Falmouth Art Gallery. The exhibition Faces of Cornwall will run until 14 April. From the very beginning, we knew we were in safe hands with poems by Penny Macbeth, followed up by an exceptional three-part meditation on the people who call Falmouth home by Amiee Albiston (fantastically read). By the end of the evening, we were spellbound by George Mackay’s story ‘The Perfect Muse’. Henry Purbrick said he couldn’t possibly follow that, but he did, with a disarming and moving word portrait of his father.
