Telltales in May
May 1st, 2015 | Published in Frontpage, Uncategorized
In May, Telltales will be at the St Ives Literature Festival as well as at our regular venue in Falmouth.
The suggested theme for writers for both these events is ‘Intrusion’.
As always, this can be interpreted in any way and as loosely as you wish. But all writing we receive will be considered. Good writing on any theme, in any genre, from both novice and experienced writers has a chance of being selected. All work should take no more than 10 minutes to read out loud, please; this usually means about 1,600 words of prose. The deadline for submissions is midnight Saturday 9 May, so there’s still time to submit – using the form opposite – if you’re a writer and would like to read at one or both of the May events but haven’t got round yet to sending us your work – or even to putting pen to paper or two fingers to computer!
It will be helpful if, when submitting your work, you indicate whether you want to be considered for one (and, if so, which one) or both of the May events.
Even if you will not be submitting a piece of writing or some poetry to be included, everyone is invited to come along to be part of the audience. Entry to both Telltales events will be free. We will be at:
The Arts Club, St Ives at 3 pm on Saturday 16 May
and at
Dolly’s Wine Bar, Falmouth at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 19 May
You will be entertained each time by a group of talented writers, including John Birch, who has just won the My Cornwall magazine Short Story competition 2015.
We look forward to receiving your writing and to seeing you all!
