Auburn Warrior – Alfred Hazlitt

March 3rd, 2009  |  Published in Volume IV: New Order

Drumming on the wings of eternity, the auburn warrior clambers through urban forests to finally reach the sea. He momentarily waits in the glimmering sunshine, besides palms and rock pools.
The Sun chants its radiating heat like thunder, whilst the dormant sea crackles upon the shore; an orchestra of clapping clams, singing shellfish and muted mackerel all governed by pious Psioden.
Our warrior has but one purpose; to wrestle that monster of the deep, the giant squid, Psioden himself- commander of the seas.
Only once he has wretched the tongue from the spirit of the squall, can he drift in serene waters back to land. Not without a fight will this endeavour conclude! Many a vessel sunk, and the stench of blood shall mix with the fire and the fury of the sea.
Much like the parting of the waves, the clouds shall open up and offer a gentle gust; a lazy breeze to guide our hero home.
But what is this? A little gift, a gentle pearl, a princess of sorts- singing to the day break, enchanting the rugged land, and our  warrior who finally rests upon it.
