Threshold 24 March

February 21st, 2015  |  Published in Frontpage, Uncategorized

Time to come in from the cold? – or take a step out into the unknown!

Why not submit to read at Telltales in March?

We are always on the look-out for new, talented writers in any genre.

In March the theme is Threshold.  Do with it what you will.  We are looking for writing which is authentic and powerful.  Work in progress is fine and if it’s a bit raw and rough around the edges, that’s okay too.  We’d love to see work in which the writer has really pushed their own boundaries.

Threshold

Please use your name and the title of the piece as the document name (oh, and .doc is preferable).  If this would be your first time reading at Telltales, please mention it in your email.

Please submit up to 2,000 words or 10 minutes max when spoken aloud (5 – 8 minutes is ideal).  We welcome short stories, poems, memoirs, extracts from novels, plays, screenplays… etc.  As long as it’s creative and original, we’re interested.  Very.

Submission deadline is midnight on Saturday 14 March.

Telltales will be held at Dolly’s Wine Bar, Falmouth on Tuesday 24 March. Readings start at 7.30 pm sharp.

Also don’t forget the deadline for the myCornwall writing competition is 2 March.

myCornwall magazine and Telltales are offering the chance for a writer to have their work published in the magazine and read out at the May 2015 Telltales event in Falmouth. Together, we’re looking for short stories, poems or novel extracts based on the theme Roots. Entries will be judged by the myCornwall editorial team. To enter please send a story of between 1,600 and 2,000 words, or up to four poems to the address below or email them to: news@mycornwall.tv The deadline is 2 March 2015. Usual competition rules apply and the judges’ decision is final (no members of myCornwall or the Telltales organizing team can enter).
