Penzance 2017

Another fabulous Penzance Litfest has come and gone and we were proud to play our part in navigating ‘Uncharted Waters’. Abi Wyatt‘s poems gave insight into the life of diver Roland Morris, who created The Admiral Benbow, the restaurant/nautical museum where our event was held. Ellie Walsh‘s flash fiction described beauty and suffering in Nepal. Suzanne Harris‘ story foresaw the importance of blank pages when the sea rises.
With performance poet Gray Lightfoot we laughed at drunken pirates and sea-sickness. Ulrike Bravo imagined a letter home from Chile by Cornish adventurer Sampson Waters. Nancy Roth exlored virtual worlds with a homeless gaming expert and philosopher as her guides. Des Hannigan‘s poetry conjured up 4 peg Cornish gales, and last but not least we explored the hilarious alternative world of Rob Barratt. There were also songs from Jig the Quavers, including ‘The Finest Ship’ written by local musician Len Davies, whose widow Wendy was there to tell us the true story that inspired it.
