Power to The People: The Democratic Movement of Telltales Takes Port Eliot Festival 2011
April 30th, 2011 | Published in Frontpage
We, the people, want democracy. We want our voice to be heard. To choose what inspires us, what to listen to, how we’re entertained. The time for Revolution is now.
Telltales presents See,Change at Port Eliot Festival 2011. A showcase of Cornwall’s very best creative writing talent, chosen by you, by me, by us. All of us.
Established wordsmiths alongside fresh blood. Poetry, prose, short stories, novels. We decide.
That’s right folks, we’re back at Port Eliot Festival this year and we’re opening it up wide, inviting you to choose who makes up the Telltales set.
As always we’re inviting anyone to submit work loosely based on the theme, See,Change through the website.
From the submissions we receive we’ll pull together a shortlist of 10 or so writers and then open it up to you to shape the programme.
We’ll post extracts from the shortlisted writers’ work here on the website then set up a poll where you can vote to choose who you would like to see perform at Port Eliot Festival.
The top writers selected through the voting poll will join the Telltales set to perform on one of the main stages at Port Eliot 2011.
Submissions are open now and close on 13 May.
The shortlist will then be selected and the poll created in June, so you’ll have a whole month to log on and choose your favourites.
Sound good? Then get writing and uploading, using the column on the right.
Join us. The revolution starts here.
