We’re still contemplating the magical poems, stories and reflections upon life (and what we’d be without its imperfections)contributed by the readers at our May event but we must be up and running again to prepare for a busy Summer of words.
Telltales will be at the following events:-
ParkLive in Kimberley Park, Falmouth on the afternoons of 26 June and 31 July. There’s no theme for these events (it’s all very informal:anything goes) and we won’t be going through the usual selection process. Just send us an email (info@telltales.org.uk) if you’d like to take part in the Spoken Word Tent, and we’ll be in touch.
Penzance Litfest.http://www.pzlitfest.co.uk/ We’re back at The Admiral Benbow, Chapel Street, Penzance the evening of 7 July, and we’ve adopted the festival theme: ‘Going Underground’ This is always a good evening with a special atmosphere so well worth making the effort for – as a writer or listener. Deadline for submissions is midnight Friday 1 July.
Dolly’s, Church Street, Falmouth. We’ll be back home on the evening of 26 July. We’re keeping the theme of ‘Going Underground’ for this one.
Port Eliot Festival. Once again we’ll be at this delightful festival, and our writers taking part will receive a free ticket for the whole weekend. The festival began life as the Elephant Fair and we have been in the Round Room in the past, hence our theme ‘Elephant in the Round Room.’

2. please don’t hold back because you’ve only just started to write,have never had anything published,have never read in public before – or for any other reason. Telltales wouldn’t exist without writers, and all are welcome.
3. we accept all kinds of writing (stories, poems, fiction, non-fiction, reflective, life, travel, novel extract. etc.)from all sorts of writers (beginners to the well-established, aged from 16 to 110).
4. the themes can be interpreted in any way, and as loosely as you like, and if a theme doesn’t inspire you at all but there’s something else you’d like to read please submit it; we will consider everything.
5. the writing should take no more than 10 minutes to read aloud. The exception is ParkLive where there’s an opportunity to read longer pieces.
